MultiServ is dedicated to
helping the metals industry maximise
sustainability and minimise the environmental impact of their
production activities. We have developed a number of processes
providing viable solutions for the recycling of by-products, and
techniques to solve some of the environmental issues resulting from
metal production. Our clients benefit from reduced disposal costs
and the recovery of iron units and valuable metal bearing
components.

Dusts, slurries and fines can be processed and agglomerated
for recycling within the ironmaking or steelmaking
process. Our experience enables us to advise
clients on the most appropriate blend of materials to maximise
recovery while minimising any impact on production
processes. MultiServ operates briquetting and
pelletising plants producing a range of product types and
specifications designed to meet the requirements of different
stages in the production of iron and steel.
Through its National Recovery Systems subsidiary in North
America, MultiServ develops and manufactures
metallurgical additives for secondary refining of
steel.
Oily millscale, sludges and electric arc furnace dusts can be
processed using MultiServ's Carbofer®
process. The materials are blended together with
lime and carbon to produce a free flowing powder which is then
injected into the furnace.
Carbofer® is an excellent slag foaming agent and
replaces the need for carbon injection.
Dusts, slurries and fines from stainless steel production can
be smelted in MultiServ's patented Plasminox®
furnace. The valuable alloying elements such as
chromium, nickel and molybdenum are recovered in a specially
designed smelting furnace and returned to the client for
re-use.
