Services provided within the finished products area:
MultiServ provides services throughout the steel production
process, including final quality control and packaging and dispatch
of finished products. The correct handling of finished
products, whether in coil bundles or singly, is of paramount
importance and central to MultiServ's selection of processes and
equipment.
MultiServ offers a complete packaging system for cold-rolled
coils and coated sheet, including the supply of packaging
materials. Highly trained operatives package individual coils
or bundles of sheet products according to the exact requirements of
the client or end-user. The service can include the internal
transfer of material between production processes, and also final
storage and dispatch. Computerised storage and positioning
systems allow reduced delays, and costs, at the point of loading
and dispatching to the customer.
Through our United Kingdom-based Logistics division, we offer
an integrated road transport service, collecting, dispatching and
delivering to end-users on a "just-in-time" basis on behalf of
steelmills, service centres and ports. The road trailer fleet is
purpose-built to safely transport a range of steel products
including wide coil, slit coil, palletised sheet and tubes at
maximum permissible weights. Comprehensive administration and
contract reporting support the service together with related
on-site logistics which interface with production processes.
Automatic and manual online inspection stations allow a
real-time control of decision making. Finished products can
be removed, repaired or rejected, ensuring reduced wastage and full
traceability.
On-site mobile equipment and cranes are selected based on the
type and volume of product to be handled, and are designed to
maximise productivity while minimising potential for damage to the
finished product.
