MultiServ provides services aimed at optimising on-site logistics and handling of semi-finished products. Transforming product dimensions and improving their surface quality is an area where MultiServ has considerable experience. MultiServ provides fully integrated product management systems which provide real time product location tracking and traceability.

MultiServ has developed customised systems for the management, handling and tracking of semi-finished products. A computerised management system, fully integrated in real time with the client's own systems, allows the optimal positioning and retrieval of products. Products are tracked using differential GPS or radio frequency tagging, and are handled by specialist and highly manoeuvrable machines, or by existing overhead cranes. Semi-finished products can be identified using stamping, bar coding tags or adhesive labels depending on the temperature.

Prior to entering the rolling mill, the surface quality of hot or cold slabs can be improved by scarfing. Scarfing can be performed by our highly skilled manual scarfers or using MultiServ's patented Androfer scarfing machine. For stainless steel, grinding provides an effective method for improving surface quality prior to further processing.

Slitting and sub-dividing is performed for many clients using highly productive automated oxycutting machines which precisely cut slab and plate to a variety of shapes and sizes.
