Externally purchased scrap is typically processed by baling,
shredding, and shearing. These processes upgrade
the quality of the scrap and ensure the optimum density is
achieved.
Large pieces of internally arising scrap can be processed to
exact furnace charge specifications by lancing, balling or the
FerroCut® system. A combination
of these services can be employed to provide an efficient and rapid
processing of scrap to the required
specifications. Lancing is performed within
controlled environments to minimise dust and fume
emissions. MultiServ has developed best practice
methods for the safe operation of balling cranes.
The FerroCut® machine has been developed to
meet the higher volume requirements of certain clients and is
capable of cutting the full range of scrap material including slab,
coil, tundish and skulls into charge weight pieces.
The machine is highly productive, offering
total flexibility whilst complying with the world's toughest
environmental legislation, minimising noise and fume emissions, and
protecting the operator.
